COMMON PROPERTY

Common property is comprised of all areas of the land and building not included in any lot. The boundaries of each lot are generally formed by:

  • The upper surface of the floor
  • The under surface of the ceiling
  • All external or boundary walls (including doors and windows)

Generally, the Owners' Corporation must look after the common property and undertake all repairs. This includes replacing and renewing common property when needed.

Examples of common property include: pipes and wiring which are in the common property or which service more than one lot; windows and doors on boundaries of the lot, etc.
